I make films about people who craft, play, sing and fix things. Artists on stage, artisans in a workshop tucked away in the mountains, people whose daily lives run a little outside the ordinary. Often, people on the margins.

What draws me is what they do with their hands and their minds: the gesture they repeat, the time they pour into creating, what it costs them. I take the time to be there, long enough for the camera to be forgotten. Or at least, I try as best I can.

My politics are on the left, and they shape my choices: I film people who get pushed to the edges, and I also film what pushes them there.
